This week we work with long vowel i words in lesson 8. Please refer to the spelling section of the blog so that you and your child may practice these words at home. We will retell a book entitled “Hester” and write a journal entry about describing how to make a jack o lantern. In math, we focus on multiple strands of grade level concepts with a specific learning center focus on ordinal numbers and fact families. We continue our Social Studies unit entitled “Looking at Places.” The students have their own copy of this unit on their google drive and can access it from home (via their Wolf Creek email account) if they want to enrich their studies of this topic at home.

We will retell a book entitled “The Teeny Tiny Ghost” and write a journal entry about having a dinosaur for a pet. In math, we focus on multiple strands of grade level concepts with a specific learning center focus on place value and value comparison (greater/less than). We continue our Social Studies unit entitled “Looking at Places.” The students have their own copy of this unit on their google drive and can access it from home (via their Wolf Creek email account) if they want to enrich their studies of this topic at home.
